This difference has raised alarm among Bengaluru residents, who are finding it difficult to match the increasing cost of living.

The post struck a chord with many, who shared the same gripes about wage stagnation not keeping up with inflation. Commenters noted that basic expenses such as rent, electricity, and food are rising at a rate that outpaces wage growth, rendering city life more and more unaffordable.

Bengaluru's real estate market is especially tough, with rentals in upscale locations going up to almost ₹90,000 for a three-BHK apartment. This is not specific to Bengaluru; the same problem is seen in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, highlighting a national issue of affordability in metro cities.
