Bhopal Bans Begging: Crackdown on Organized Crime Rings

Bhopal has followed Indore's lead, implementing a complete ban on begging across all public spaces. The move aims to combat organized crime rings exploiting vulnerable individuals. District officials cite concerns over traffic disruptions, public safety, and criminal activities associated with begging. Violators, including those giving alms, face strict penalties under the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sahita. The ban reflects growing awareness of begging as an organized crime, with syndicates often involved in human trafficking and forced labor. A shelter in Kolar has been designated for displaced beggars.
