SRK, known for his trademark charm on stage, had offered Kartik some hosting tips earlier, asking him to engage the audience with lots of pizzazz. Kartik split hosting responsibilities with Karan Johar, and their playful jabs at one another further amused the night. Kartik's enthusiasm and energy were contagious in spite of the pressure as he welcomed guests in a traditional Rajasthani welcome, "Padharo Mhare IIFA," under the guidance of SRK.
