Bihar: Internet Services Suspended in Jamui Over Communal Tensions

Internet services have been suspended in Bihar's Jamui district following clashes between two groups on Sunday, February 16, 2025. The incident occurred when members of a Hindu outfit were returning from a Hanuman Chalisa recitation event in Baliadih village. Stone pelting near a mosque resulted in injuries to several people, including a local councilor. Eight arrests have been made so far. The district administration suspended internet services as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of rumors through social media. Heavy police deployment has been made in the affected areas to maintain peace and control the situation.
