Bright Ideas, Brighter Future: India Aims for $100B Electrical Exports

Union Minister of Commerce Piyush Goyal has set a high export target for India's electrical and electronics sector: reaching $100 billion in exports in the next 5-7 years. Speaking at the 16th Edition of ELECRAMA, Goyal referred to the sector's remarkable growth, with exports of electronic products at second rank in the nation today, after rising from 167th rank in 2015. The minister emphasized stronger supply chains, better quality, and competitive prices. He also urged balancing MSME and consumer interests without being too protectionist. With exports in January 2025 reaching $3 billion, the target reflects India's ambition to become a global manufacturing.
