Burger King's India Operator Faces Wider Q3 Loss Amid Consumer Spending Cuts

Restaurant Brands Asia, the operator of Burger King in India, reported a wider net loss of ₹50.3 crore for Q3 FY25, compared to ₹36 crore in the same period last year. Despite a 5.8% revenue growth to ₹639 crore, rising costs and subdued consumer demand pressured margins, which narrowed to 10.9% from 11.3%. Same-store sales declined by 0.5%, reflecting flat demand as inflation-weary consumers cut back on discretionary spending. The company added 69 new outlets in India, bringing the total to 510 stores as of December 2024.
