CA Final’s Filtered Few: ICAI Unveils Eligibility Rules for the September Showdown

News Brief: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued eligibility criteria for the candidates appearing for the CA Final Examination in September 2025. Because the New Education and Training Scheme is in full operation, ICAI has laid down stringent adherence to course enrollment, training milestones, and modular learning requirements within timelines.

Key Requirements:

Last Course Registration:

Applicants must be registered or converted into the Final New Course with codes NEWFIN23 or CONFIN23.

There is no additional cost to switch to the old scheme.

Articleship Completion:

Should have completed articleship for 3 or 3.5 years (including leave in excess) on or before 31 August 2025,

Or last 6 or 12 months of articleship on 1 September 2025, based on the stream (IPCC, PE-II, PCC).

Candidates whose articleship was terminated should re-register as active on or before 1 September 2025.

Mandatory Learning Benchmarks:

Advanced ICITSS (AICITSS):

Completion of the Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (Advanced IT and MCS) is imperative on or before 10 August 2025.

Candidates who appeared under the old scheme are exempt from retaking it before the exam but must complete it before ICAI membership.

Self-Paced Online Modules (SPOM):

Set A (Corporate & Economic Laws) and Set B (Strategic Cost & Performance Management) are mandatory for everyone.

Sets C and D are required for applicants admitted from November 2024 onwards or applicants who cleared Intermediate from November 2023 onwards.

All modules are required to be cleared by 10 August 2025.

Administrative Requirements:

Candidates should upload a distinct photo and signature in the correct format (jpg/jpeg, correct dimensions and size).

All such information must be updated and confirmed on the Self Service Portal (SSP), for instance, course registration and article status. Any differences be settled through SSP ticket or by sending an email at final_examhelpline@icai.in.
