Capital Care on Wheels: Delhi Rolls Out 10 Free Ambulances to Boost Emergency Response

In a major step toward strengthening Delhi’s emergency healthcare infrastructure, Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh flagged off 10 free ambulances under the Aakash Community Life Savers initiative on October 5, 2025.

Key highlights:
1. The ambulances, launched in partnership with Aakash Healthcare Super Speciality Hospital, will operate free of cost across Delhi-NCR.
2. This public-private collaboration has already reduced average ambulance response time from 30 minutes to 25 minutes.
3. The service aims to ensure rapid medical assistance with a single phone call, enhancing accessibility for all residents.
4. Senior IPS officer Robin Hibu and hospital MD Aashish Chaudhry attended the launch event in Dwarka.
5. Alongside the rollout, the minister announced intensified raids against food adulteration during the festive season to ensure public safety.
