In a stellar display at the Champions Trophy 2025 opener in Dubai, Shubman Gill's unbeaten 101 guided India to a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh. Chasing 229, India faced early setbacks, losing three wickets for just 32 runs. However, Gill's composed century, complemented by KL Rahul's 41 not out, steadied the innings, achieving the target with 21 balls to spare. Earlier, Mohammed Shami's impressive 5-53 had restricted Bangladesh to 228, despite Towhid Hridoy's resilient 100. Captain Rohit Sharma lauded Gill's performance, emphasizing his crucial role in the team's success. India is set to face arch-rivals Pakistan in their next group stage match on Sunday.
