Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti 2025: Grand Celebrations Across India with Shobha Yatras

As India prepares to commemorate the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on February 19, 2025, cities across the country are gearing up for grand celebrations. In Hyderabad, multiple Shobha Yatras are planned, with one starting from Osmania University Arts College and another from Puranapul Shivaji Dwar. The processions will pass through key city landmarks, showcasing the cultural significance of the Maratha warrior king. Similarly, in Borabanda, a Shobha Yatra is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM, moving from Moti Nagar to Borabanda Shivaji statue. Maharashtra, the heartland of Shivaji's legacy, will observe a statewide holiday, with schools and offices closed. The state government has also announced "Jai Shivaji, Jai Bharat" padyatras across Maharashtra, following directives from the central government. These events aim to honor Shivaji's contributions to Indian history and inspire the youth with his ideals of courage, justice, and efficient governance.
