Clearside's Groundbreaking Eye Treatment Poised for Expansion into Chinese Market

Arctic Vision, Clearside Biomedical's partner in the Asia-Pacific region, has announced that China's Center for Drug Evaluation has accepted the New Drug Application (NDA) for ARCATUS® (ARVN001) for review. ARCATUS®, known in the U.S. as XIPERE®, is the first approved suprachoroidal therapy for treating uveitic macular edema (UME). The NDA is supported by positive results from Phase 3 clinical trials conducted in China. ARCATUS® uses Clearside's proprietary SCS Microinjector® technology for targeted delivery of triamcinolone acetonide directly to the back of the eye. This novel approach is a potential boon for UME patients in terms of efficacy and safety. It is already approved in the U.S., Australia, and Singapore.
