Connecting Continents: India-Kazakhstan Container Train Sets New Trade Milestone

The landmark container train connectivity between India and Kazakhstan was established on March 4, 2025. The train was made up of 12 containers of twenty-foot length and originated from India's Mundra port and is being transported to Sorokovaya station in Kazakhstan. The service is likely to boost regional trade connectivity by much and cut travel time. The journey traverses Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, with an overall sea distance of 1,585 km from Mundra to Iran, and then continued via rail route through Central Asian nations. The move is a milestone towards forging economic relations between India and Central Asian countries and could potentially transform trade logistics in the region.
