Copper Corridor Opens: Chhattisgarh Flags Off India’s Largest Export to China

Chhattisgarh’s mineral push gains global traction with record copper dispatch  
In a landmark development, the Chhattisgarh government has commenced the export of 12,000 metric tonnes of copper concentrate to China—the largest such consignment in India’s history. The first rake, carrying 2,200 metric tonnes, departed from the Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) in Nava Raipur on November 11, headed for Visakhapatnam Port before its final shipment to China.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the initiative as a symbol of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” highlighting the state’s emergence as a strategic hub for mineral exports and industrial logistics. The MMLP, developed under the Department of Industries, features advanced cargo handling systems and integrated rail connectivity, enabling cost-effective and scalable operations.
