Cricketer Andrew Brownlee Makes History as Oldest International Debutant

Andrew Brownlee has etched his name in cricket history by becoming the oldest player to make a men's international debut at the age of 62. He achieved this remarkable feat while representing the Falkland Islands in a T20 International match against Costa Rica on March 10, 2025, in Guacima, Costa Rica. This milestone surpasses the previous record held by Osman Goker, who debuted for Turkey at 59 in August 2019. Brownlee played three T20Is, scoring six runs and bowling one over without securing a wicket. His debut marked the Falkland Islands' first international cricket appearance, with all team members being over 31 years old. Brownlee's achievement highlights his enduring passion for the sport and sets a new benchmark for late-career debuts in international cricket.
