Cruising into a New Era: Yamuna River Set to Become Delhi's Next Big Attraction

The Delhi government has announced plans to introduce a cruise service on the Yamuna River with the aim of increasing tourism and encouraging green transport. The project will upgrade a 6-km stretch between Wazirabad barrage and Jagatpur for cruise operation. The Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) has floated a request for quotation to hire operators for two solar or electric battery-operated cruises. The service will run a 7-8 km round trip, beginning and ending at Sonia Vihar, with a minimum of four trips a day. The project is one of the BJP government's initiatives to revitalize the Yamuna and boost river-cruise tourism in the capital.
