Ctrl+Alt+Protest: IT Pros Debug Work-Life Imbalance in Silicon Valley of India

A large protest in Bengaluru, under the banner of the Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union (KITU), saw more than 100 IT professionals assemble at Freedom Park today. Under the theme of "A Healthy Work-Life Balance-Right of Any Employee," the rally focused on excessive working hours, unpaid overtime, and a lack of enforcement of labor laws in the IT sector. Several of their demands included enforcing some work regulations, withdrawal of privileges for IT companies from the labor laws, and a 'Right to Disconnect' policy. Concerns about burnout and increasing mental health issues in the IT sector have become more urgent.
