Delhi Assembly to Undergo Heritage Revamp, Speaker Proposes Restoration Plan

Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has proposed a heritage revamp of the iconic legislative complex, aiming to transform it into a cultural and historical hub. The initiative seeks to preserve the building’s architectural integrity while enhancing public engagement through interactive exhibitions and improved visitor facilities.  

Key Aspects of the Revamp Plan:  
- Restoration of the Assembly’s original architectural features to maintain its historical significance.  
- Establishment of a legislative museum showcasing Delhi’s political evolution and democratic journey.  
- Development of tourism infrastructure, including guided tours, informative signage, and audio-visual aids.  
- Community involvement through curated events featuring local artisans, performers, and cultural practitioners.  

The proposal has been submitted to Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, with a request for collaboration and support. Gupta has emphasized the importance of preserving the Assembly’s legacy while making it more accessible to the public.
