Phase IV Expansion: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is currently constructing around 112 kilometers of new metro lines as part of its ongoing Phase IV expansion. These renamed stations are part of the under-construction RK Puram-Janakpuri corridor, which is expected to become operational next year, enhancing connectivity and commuter options in the city.

Government Statement: CM Rekha Gupta emphasized that the renaming aims to make metro travel more intuitive and user-friendly. “We have considered suggestions from citizens and party leaders to make commuting easier and ensure that every passenger travels without difficulty,” she said.

Previous Renaming: This initiative follows a recent precedent in July 2023 when the HUDA City Centre station was renamed Millennium City Centre to reflect local identity better.
