Delhi's Digital Sherlock: When AI Meets CSI, Burglars Get the Blues

In a first, Delhi Police have cracked several burglary cases with the help of advanced facial recognition system (FRS) technology. Northwest district police picked up suspects in two cases and recovered stolen jewelry and cash. In one case, the tech helped police arrest Imran (28) and Sachin Verma (36), and recover Rs 5.87 lakh, diamonds, and pearls. Another instance in Shalimar Bagh led to the arrest of Chandan (38) within 24 hours. The success in this novel initiative shows how AI can empower new-age policing and ramp up the ability of the force to solve crimes effectively.
