Deportations Threaten U.S. Economy: Experts Warn of Significant Losses

The Latino Donor Collaborative has warned of the dire economic consequences of mass deportations in a new report, and it is feared that mass deportations would cost the U.S. economy heavily. Experts have estimated that deporting undocumented immigrants could reduce the gross domestic product from 4.2% to 6.8%, which amounts to $1.1 trillion to $1.7 trillion annually. This would only bring such vital industries to a standstill as agriculture and construction but also eliminate jobs for born-and-raised U.S. workers. The collaborative emphasizes that the contributions of undocumented immigrants are vital for economic stability and growth.
