Driving Change: Rapido's Shravya Reddy Champions Livelihood Opportunities for Women

Shravya Reddy, Chief of Staff at Rapido, has called for women to embrace driving as a viable livelihood opportunity, emphasizing its potential to empower them financially and socially. Speaking about Rapido's nationwide expansion of its 'Pink Mobility' initiative, Reddy highlighted the importance of breaking societal barriers and fostering a supportive ecosystem for women drivers.  

The 'Pink Mobility' program aims to create sustainable earning opportunities for women by leasing bikes to them and providing skill development training. Rapido has partnered with organizations like Azad Foundation and Sakha Consulting Wings to build a fleet of over 2 lakh women captains across India within the next three years.  

Reddy acknowledged the challenges women face in the gig economy, including societal stigma, lack of access to childcare, and inadequate infrastructure. She stressed the need for dialogue and investment to address these issues, ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment for women.  

This initiative not only promotes financial independence but also paves the way for women to enter the workforce, contributing to their families' well-being and societal progress. Rapido's efforts reflect a commitment to empowering women and redefining traditional career paths.
