Edit on the Go: YouTube’s Mobile Video Studio Rolls Out for iOS Creators

After a two-year stint as an Android exclusive, Google is finally bringing its smartphone video editing app, YouTube Create, to iOS—a significant step towards taking on editing giants like CapCut and InShot. The goal is to let iPhone creators create high-quality content from their phones, especially for YouTube Shorts and long-form content.

YouTube Create was first launched in September 2023 on Android in the US and seven other countries, with 13 more countries in early 2024.

The iOS launch is timely in view of increasing demands from creators and influencers for mobile-first editing capabilities.

The app also offers a host of free edit options like GIFs, stickers, transitions, sound effects, and Shorts compatibility alongside normal video compatibility.
