Fadnavis Demands Removal of 'Objectionable' Content on Sambhaji Maharaj from Wikipedia

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered the state cyber police to contact Wikipedia and remove "objectionable" content about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The action comes after controversial information about the Maratha ruler surfaced on the online encyclopedia, sparking outrage on social media. Fadnavis stated that distortion of historical facts on open-source platforms would not be tolerated. The issue gained attention following the release of "Chhava," a film based on Sambhaji Maharaj's life. While some defend the content as historically accurate, the government's move has intensified the debate over freedom of expression and historical representation.
