FIDE Chief Challenges Magnus Carlsen’s Remarks on Anand: ‘Attack Me, Not Him'

FIDE Chief Arkady Dvorkovich has publicly criticized Magnus Carlsen over his personal attacks on chess legend Viswanathan Anand lately, saying, "If you want to attack someone, attack me." This comes in the wake of his controversial withdrawal from the World Rapid Championship after he was fined for wearing jeans against the dress codes of the tournament. Dvorkovich pointed out the importance of respect within the chess community and recognized that Carlsen's words were over the top. He thanked Anand for his contributions to chess and asked for a more constructive dialogue between players and officials.
