Fortis Healthcare's Shrimann Hospital Acquisition Faces Legal Hurdle

Fortis Healthcare Limited has encountered a setback in its planned acquisition of Shrimann Superspecialty Hospital in Jalandhar. An ex-parte injunction order dated March 20, 2025, restrains the consummation of the sale. The order stems from a dispute between Cancer Treatment Services Hyderabad Private Limited (CTSH) and Shrimann Hospital over alleged outstanding dues. Fortis, which is not a party to the litigation, received the order on March 20 at 3:57 PM. Shrimann Hospital and its partners are reportedly seeking an amicable resolution with CTSH and working to vacate the injunction. This development temporarily halts Fortis' ₹462 crore acquisition plan, which aimed to strengthen its Punjab cluster to over 1,000 beds across five facilities.
