From Food to Fitness: Swiggy Enters the Sports Arena with New Subsidiary

Swiggy has received approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to establish Swiggy Sports Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary, as part of its bold move to diversify its business. This will be the first foray into the sports and recreation sector by Swiggy, where it will engage in sports team ownership, talent development, and event management. The company follows the acquisition of Team Mumbai in the World Pickleball League by Swiggy, which has shown its intent to capitalize on the growing sports market in India. This strategic expansion reflects Swiggy's efforts to strengthen its out-of-home consumption business.
