From Paperwork to Pixels: Nepal's Bold E-Governance Leap

Nepal's E-governance Board presented the 'E-Governance Blueprint' today, which is a key step towards transforming Nepal digitally. The blueprint, announced on February 26, 2025, seeks to transform government services through digital means. It calls for seven strategic pillars, among them a defined governance framework, legal frameworks, digital literacy, and innovation. The plan envisions setting up foundational institutions such as the Information Technology Department and Data Protection Authority. This project has the potential to improve service delivery, increase transparency, and encourage innovation in governance. The master plan, if well implemented, could result in a paperless government and more robust digital linkages among the state, private sector, and citizens.
