From Permanent to Precarious: Vance Redefines Green Card Residency

In a recent interview on "The Ingraham Angle" that aired on Fox News, US Vice President JD Vance made a number of controversial statements regarding the right of green card holders to stay in the United States. Among these, it became clear that green card holders don't have the right, by any means, to remain in the country indefinitely, suggesting a major change in the immigration policy of the Trump administration. He cited the case of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia graduate student accused of trying to pump pro-Hamas propaganda through the school, to underline that concerns about national security could supersede free speech for non-citizens. He also left the door ajar for a possible ramp-up of the deportation of student visa holders and other non-citizens considered a national security threat-a significant toughening of the administration's immigration policy.
