From Telecom Tycoon to Knight: Sunil Mittal's Royal Recognition

On February 22, 2025, Sunil Bharti Mittal, founder-chairman of Bharti Enterprises, was presented with the medal of Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire at an awards ceremony at the residence of the British High Commissioner in New Delhi following the announcement of his honorary knighthood in 2024 for services to UK-India business relations. British High Commissioner Lindy Cameron lauded Mittal's major investments in the UK and his tenet that strengthened the UK-India partnership. Mittal expressed his gratitude and commitment towards enhancing India-UK business relations. This esteemed recognition ranks Mittal among such greats as Nelson Mandela and Bill Gates.
