GAIL (India) Secures $285 Million Settlement from SEFE, Resolving LNG Supply Dispute

GAIL (India) Ltd., a leading natural gas company, has entered into a settlement agreement with Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE), formerly Gazprom Germania, to resolve a long-standing liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply dispute. As part of the settlement, SEFE will pay GAIL $285 million. This agreement addresses disruptions in LNG supplies that began in 2022 due to geopolitical tensions, which had significantly impacted GAIL's operations and India's domestic gas market. The settlement is expected to stabilize GAIL's LNG procurement strategy and enhance energy security for India's consumers and industries.
