Geology and Mining Department Plants Seeds of Change on World Plantation Day

Kashmir's Department of Geology and Mining marked World Plantation Day by hosting a vibrant tree plantation drive with emphasis on conservation of the environment and sustainability. Director Suraj Parkash Rukwal stressed the department's emphasis on sustainable development and natural resource conservation. The event underscored the importance of afforestation in regulating climate change and ecological balance.

 

Senior Drilling Engineer Er. Ab. Hamid Wani highlighted tree plantation as a means of improving biodiversity and solving environmental issues. Students from the local schools actively took part, giving knowledge-based speeches on the role of trees in keeping the environment balanced and fighting global warming. Officers and students planted the saplings together, reflecting their shared responsibility towards safeguarding the environment. The campaign is meant to create a sense of environmental responsibility among the younger population to construct a greener tomorrow.
