Gold Soars to Unprecedented Heights: Investors Flock to Safe Haven Amid Global Uncertainty

Gold prices have skyrocketed to record highs, with spot gold reaching $2,938 per ounce as of February 20, 2025. The surge is driven by a perfect storm of factors, including geopolitical tensions, inflation concerns, and President Trump's tariff threats. Domestic Indian prices have followed suit, hitting ₹89,400 per 10 grams. While high prices are dampening jewelry demand, investment interest remains strong, with gold ETFs seeing unprecedented inflows. The Reserve Bank of India has also resumed gold buying, adding 2.8 tonnes to its reserves in January.
