Google Enhances Play Protect in the Philippines to Combat Fraud

Google has launched its enhanced Play Protect feature in the Philippines to combat the increasing problem of financial fraud and scams linked to sideloaded apps. The enhanced Play Protect provides real-time scanning and blocks installation attempts of sideloaded apps that could steal user's money or personal information. As of February 10, the enhanced service has already blocked over 3.2 million high-risk install attempts in the Philippines. This initiative aims to protect users from malicious apps, often disguised as quick loan apps or instant reward games, and is automatically enabled on all Android devices in the Philippines.
