Government Vows to Support Media's Digital Shift: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has reiterated the government's promise to support the shift of the media sector from traditional to digital. Addressing the DNPA Conclave 2025, Vaishnaw stressed the necessity to redefine the role of traditional media, provide fair compensation, and solve copyright issues in the new paradigm. He emphasized the necessity of editor-verified content and urged deliberations on safeguarding jobs in the media industry. The minister announced willingness to give required support through this shift, acknowledging the key role played by the media in defining national narratives. Vaishnaw also called for developing pragmatic solutions towards a seamless shift in the changing media landscape.
