Gurugram Metro Construction Set to Commence on September 5: A New Era of Urban Mobility Begins

The much-anticipated Gurugram Metro project officially kicks off its construction phase on September 5, 2025, ushering in a transformative chapter for the city’s transportation infrastructure. The groundbreaking ceremony, known as Bhoomi Poojan, will be conducted by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at Sector 44, near the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) office. Key Highlights of Gurugram Metro Phase One

The first phase entails construction of approximately 15.22 kilometers of elevated metro rail viaduct with 15 stations designed to weave into the fabric of Gurugram’s urban landscape.

A 1.85-kilometer spur extends the metro line to connect with Dwarka Expressway, enhancing regional accessibility.

A dedicated ramp will link the metro line to a proposed depot situated in Sector 33, critical for operational management and maintenance.

The contract for this phase has been awarded to a joint venture between Dilip Buildcon and Ranjit Buildcon for ₹1,277 crore plus GST.

The Gurugram Metro Phase One line will commence from Millennium City Centre station — which will interchange with the existing Delhi Metro Yellow Line — and extend across multiple critical sectors including Sector 45, Cyber Park (Sector 46), Subhash Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, and further to Sector 101.
