Heatwave Engulfs Konkan & Goa as IMD Sounds Yellow Alert

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a yellow alert for heatwave in scattered pockets of Konkan and Goa. The temperatures are climbing 4-5 degrees higher than normal, with Mumbai and surrounding regions predicted to touch 37-38°C. The rare February heat is causing apprehensions regarding water storage and people's health. IMD foresees hot and humid weather to continue until February 28, with a marginal drop in temperature anticipated on February 27-28. Citizens are asked to take care, drink plenty of water, and stay away from excessive sun exposure. The heatwave is one part of a bigger pattern of above-average temperatures in parts of India this month.
