How to Check Unclaimed Assets in Stocks and Mutual Funds via DigiLocker

From April 1, 2025, investors will be able to track stocks and mutual fund unclaimed assets easily through DigiLocker, under SEBI's new program. To view unclaimed assets, the user needs to connect demat accounts with DigiLocker. DigiLocker will then pull and store holding statements, such as shares, mutual funds, and Consolidated Account Statements (CAS), once connected.

Moreover, DigiLocker provides an option for users to designate legal heirs who will be notified automatically on the investor's death, making it simpler to transmit assets. This effort will decrease unclaimed assets while providing smooth access to financial data for families and investors alike.
