India Embraces AI to Prevent Stampedes at Kumbh Mela 2025

India is using artificial intelligence to revamp crowd management at the Kumbh Mela, the world's largest religious festival, which could draw up to 400 million pilgrims. The move seeks to avoid another deadly stampede that has haunted past festivals. By deploying a 300-camera and drone network, authorities will have real-time control over crowd density to ensure a safe six-week event. This is to integrate technology that promises a safer experience for millions of devotees participating in this ancient ritual.
