India Eyes 2030 CWG as Springboard for 2036 Olympic Bid

India is setting its sights on hosting the 2030 Commonwealth Games as a strategic move towards its ambitious 2036 Olympic bid. Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) CEO Katie Sadlier and President Chris Jenkins recently visited India, touring potential venues in Ahmedabad including the Narendra Modi Stadium and the upcoming Naranpura Sports Complex. The CGF leadership was impressed by India's Olympic-scale preparations. This interest comes as India formally submitted a Letter of Intent to host the 2036 Olympics, aligning with the IOC's sustainability policy. The potential 2030 CWG bid is part of India's broader strategy to host multiple international sporting events, gaining valuable experience for its Olympic aspirations.
