India Hits Turbo with 250 Million 5G Users

India has achieved a significant milestone by reaching 250 million 5G subscribers, as confirmed by the Ministry of Communications. This rapid adoption is driven by the aggressive rollout of 5G networks by major telecom operators like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. The country's 5G coverage has expanded to 99.6% of districts, with over 4.7 lakh base stations deployed as of February 2025. Nokia predicts that India will have more than 700 million 5G users by 2028, highlighting the country's position as a leader in 5G adoption globally. This growth is expected to boost data consumption and enhance digital connectivity across the nation.
