India-Singapore Ties Strengthened as Tarun Das Receives Top Honor

In a ceremony held in New Delhi on January 15, 2025, Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam conferred the Honorary Citizen Award upon Tarun Das, former Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This accolade, Singapore's highest honor for non-citizens, recognizes Das's pivotal role in strengthening economic and bilateral relations between the two nations. Under his leadership at CII from 1967 to 2004, Das spearheaded numerous initiatives fostering collaboration and mutual growth. Expressing his gratitude, Das remarked on the enduring partnership between India and Singapore, emphasizing the promising future of their relations.
