Indian Army Launches High-Tech Paid Internship Programme For Students

The Indian Army has announced the launch of its high-tech internship programme under the Indian Army Internship Programme (IAIP) and WARDEC initiative, inviting applications from students across India. This paid internship is designed to provide practical experience in cutting-edge defence technologies while fostering innovation and skill development among the country’s youth.  

Key highlights from the announcement include  

• Applications are open until December 7, 2025, with interviews scheduled for December 10.  
• The internship will run for 75 days from January to March 2026, primarily at the Army’s WARDEC facility.  
• Training modules will cover artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, drone technology, augmented and virtual reality, and defence simulations.  
• Selected interns will receive stipends of up to Rs 75,000, making it one of the most lucrative government-backed internships.  
• Students from universities and institutes nationwide are eligible to apply, ensuring broad participation.  
• The programme emphasizes collaboration with senior Army officers and defence experts, offering real-world exposure to military technology systems.  
• The initiative is part of the Army’s broader effort to integrate youth into national security projects and encourage innovation in defence technology.
