Indian Employees Demand the Right to Unplug—Is the Industry Ready?

This comes in the wake of a tragic incident involving an EY employee's death, allegedly due to work-related pressure. The survey highlights a generational divide, with 88% of Baby Boomers feeling valued when contacted outside work hours, while over 50% of Gen Z advocates for clearer work-life boundaries3. Despite 81% of employers fearing talent loss if they don't respect these boundaries, 66% worry about productivity drops without after-hours contact3. The debate intensifies as India lacks specific laws recognizing the right to disconnect, unlike countries such as France and Australia.
