Indian Railways Issue Safety Advisory: Avoid Kite Flying Near Tracks During Makar Sankranti

Indian Railways has issued a safety advisory in the wake of Makar Sankranti, requesting people to refrain from flying kites near railway tracks and overhead electric traction lines. Several cases have been reported where individuals have received electric shocks after kite strings, especially made of conductive materials, get tangled in 25kV overhead conductors. Such entanglements pose great risks to human life and may even disrupt train operations.
