Indian Stock Market Closed Today for Eid-ul-Fitr

The Indian capital market, comprising the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), remains closed today, March 31, 2025, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The traders have an extended weekend as markets were already closed on Saturday and Sunday. All segments of trading, such as equities, derivatives, currency markets, and electronic gold receipts (EGR), are suspended.

Eid-ul-Fitr, which is observed after the end of Ramadan, is among India's most important Islamic holidays. The festival gives investors a chance to review their portfolios and strategize ahead of tomorrow's resumption of trading, April 1, at normal hours between 9:15 AM and 3:30 PM IST.

In the future, April will have three additional market holidays of Mahavir Jayanti (April 10), Ambedkar Jayanti (April 14), and Good Friday (April 18). The traders should make arrangements in advance for these planned holidays.
