Indian Warplane Maker Pledges Faster Delivery After Air Chief’s Rebuke

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has promised accelerated delivery of the Tejas Mk1A fighter jets following sharp criticism from Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh at Aero India 2025. Singh expressed frustration over HAL’s delays, stating that none of the promised 11 jets were ready. HAL attributed the setbacks to technical issues but assured that production is now on track, with some deliveries expected by year-end. The IAF, grappling with declining squadron strength, emphasized the urgency of timely deliveries to meet operational needs.
