India's December Vegetable Oil Imports Drop to Three-Month Low

In December 2024, India's vegetable oil imports declined by 25% from the previous month, totaling 1.19 million tons—the lowest in three months. Palm oil imports experienced a significant drop of 40%, reaching 503,000 tons, a nine-month low, due to soaring prices that prompted refiners to opt for more affordable alternatives. Conversely, soybean oil imports increased by 3% to 420,000 tons, marking a four-month high, while sunflower oil imports decreased by 22% to 265,000 tons.
