India’s Economic Rise: A Global Force in Motion at GBS 2025

India’s remarkable economic transformation was a focal point at the ET NOW Global Business Summit 2025, where Times Group MD Vineet Jain underscored the country’s emergence as a global powerhouse. In his welcome address to PM Narendra Modi, Jain commended initiatives such as Make in India and Digital India, which have positioned India as a leader in fintech, technology, and manufacturing on the world stage.  He highlighted the fintech revolution in India, noting that UPI handles over 70 billion transactions annually, and stressed the country’s importance as a vital player in global value chains. PM Modi shared this positive outlook, pointing out India’s swift progress towards becoming a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) and its leadership in innovation and infrastructure.  The summit, themed “Evolve, Emerge, Expand,” will run until February 16 at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi.
