India's Economic Surge: Racing Ahead but Still Chasing China's Trillions

India's economy is projected to grow at a rate of 6.3% to 6.8% in FY26, according to the recently tabled Economic Survey 2025 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. While this positions India as one of the fastest-growing major economies globally, challenges such as a manufacturing slowdown and high inflation loom large. To realize its ambitious goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, India must sustain an average growth rate of around 8% annually for the next decade or more. The path ahead is fraught with hurdles but remains vital for India's economic aspirations.
