India's First Expressway: Mumbai-Pune Link Set for Upgrade

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway, India's first 6-lane concrete expressway, is poised for significant improvements. A new Rs 1100-crore elevated corridor project aims to enhance connectivity between the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) and the expressway by February 2027. The project will ease traffic congestion and improve travel efficiency. Meanwhile, the expressway, officially named Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway, starts from Kalamboli and features five interchanges: Kon, Chowk, Khalapur, Kusgaon, and Talegaon. This iconic route continues to be a vital link between Maharashtra's two major cities, facilitating faster and more convenient travel.
